Of all the birthing books I've recently read (most of which I'm not going to bother reviewing), this is by far the most readable, the most interesting, and the most even-keeled, in terms of presenting information. I really enjoyed the stories he presented as a parent and a pediatrician who has been involved in many births.

I love this whole series. They manage to be funny, compelling mysteries whose heroine has a wonderful sense of goodness and sincerity about her.  They are like homemade chicken soup - healthy, calming, and a joy to consume.

This book was my motivation to get the kitchen clean last night: read 2 chapters, set the timer and work for 5-10 minutes, read 2 chapters, work on the kitchen again... I finished the book and the kitchen:)
